Are you looking treatment of trichotillomania? The team of Getting Better provides trichotillomania therapy and self-help support to people with a hair pulling disorder.

trichotillomania therapy also means helping you to change patters in your behavior for this.

To everybody who asks me how to stop hair pulling I give the same answer. I tell them that our therapy for trichotillomania mainly consists of two phases:

1)      learning to change unconscious conditioned behavioral patterns;

2)      taking better care of yourself during the day.

Recently I received some wonderful feedback from one of our customers who elaborates on the second point. You will find that feedback below, six months after we were able to help her to find the cure for trichotillomania within herself.

Client feedback after the trichotillomania therapy:

“Attached you will find two new pictures: the first one without wearing makeup and the second one with just a little bit of makeup on my eyebrows. So you can clearly see how much hair has already grown back.

The pictures are from this morning. Since last time we spoke I did not take any more pictures, because I was under the impression that it would take quite some time for the hairs to grow back, but when I am looking at the pictures now I can see a big improvement!

Also since I’m used to wearing makeup I keep using that on a daily basis, just a little bit. But when I come home I take the makeup off and often forget that I used to suffer from hair pulling. It’s at moments when I receive an unexpected visitor at home that I realize how things have improved.

I have to admit, it looks a lot better than it used to. Hardly any more wounds, only a little pimple now and then. Also no ingrown hairs anymore.

The bottom line is that I’m doing very well and I notice that I don’t put so much pressure on myself anymore. When I now reflect on my days as a student back in school, I realize how much stress I created for myself just to get good grades, something I would never do anymore with what I’ve learned.

I now search for peace in my life, and when I’m not able to finish something, well: just bad luck! That is something I can finish another time then :).”

Breaking the tension buildup and release process through trichotillomania therapy!

Well isn’t that fantastic to read after the trichotillomania therapy she received!

How she no longer puts so much pressure on herself and is much better able to protect her own boundaries. Something I already wrote about in a previous blog post. So it made a lot of sense to me to share this here with you as a follow-up, so you can benefit from this.

I do however realize that just sharing this consciously will not be enough to make the desired change in your behavior. If it would be that easy I would have given the solution to stop pulling out hair immeditately.

Unfortunately helping you to make the change can’t be done ‘on paper’ since it is a little more complicated. That’s because the pattern of hair pulling runs at an unconscious level (see here for more details on this).

But in our trichotillomania therapy program you too will learn how – at an unconscious level – to look at things differently.

Or in the words of Dr. Wayne Dyer: when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

So you no longer contribute to building up the urge for pulling out hair, on top of the things you will learn during the first phase of our trichotillomania therapy program: changing unconscious conditioned behavioral patterns.

With love and wishing you well,

Rik
